Hudway Glass is a universal vehicle accessory that turns any smartphone into a head-up display (HUD) for any car in order to help a car driver navigate.
In 2015, Hudway ran a successful Kickstarter campaign, raising over $600,000 to launch the manufacture of Hudway Glass. Over 9,000 people all over the world backed the project .
The device was developed to address the problem of distracted driving. This happens because when driving at high speeds, especially at night, drivers must look at the dashboard, and this may cause accidents.
The device can minimise dangers ahead by preventing the driver from looking down. It also helps drivers strictly control the speed when there are road speed limits.
Affixed to the dashboard in the drivers' line of sight, Hudway Glass is equipped with a semi-transparent glass that reflects navigation information off the driver's mobile phone display. This allows the driver to see the road clearly.
All that is needed is to launch any HUD-based app (navigation, speedometer, trip information) and place the phone on the cradle of the device. The reflection visibility is good on the device in any weather conditions, both during the day and night.
Your smartphone must be within 158x77mm in size to fit the HUDWAY Glass mount.
