Getting enough sleep, strong nails, and a supple body are signs of your good health.

    Strong nails

    Dry and brittle nails are often signs of vitamin deficiency. With strong nails, you are probably free from this problem.

    Colours in the whites of your eyes can mean problems with your liver and kidneys. If they are bright white or eggshell white, your health will be good. If they are bloodshot, and your eyes are dry and often ache, you should see a doctor.

    BMI range

    To calculate your BMI (Body Mass Index), divide your weight in kilograms by your height in meters, multiplied by itself. If the result is in the range of 18.5 to 24.9, you have a normal body mass index. Less than 18.5 means you are underweight, and more than 24.9, you are overweight.

    Bones and joints

    Frequent pains in the bones and joints are a warning sign of being overweight. Too much accumulation of excess fat in a particular area of the body can cause aches and pains.

    Good digestion

    Clear urine with no smell, normal bowel movements, and no constipation or diarrhoea are all signs of a healthy digestive system.


    If you can fall into a deep sleep easily within about 20 minutes, and sleep for between six hours and ten hours a night, without waking, you are probably in good health.

    Supple body

    The easiest way to check your suppleness is to stretch your legs, reach your big toe, and then lift your body and stretch your arms. If you have no difficulty doing these, you are in good condition.

    Body odour

    Body odour is not only due to poor hygiene, but also caused by some diseases. If your body has a bad smell for a long time, you should see a specialist for more advice.
